America Needs Highly Trained Workers
Paid internships are available through our unique “Learn and Earn” programs.
Unlike many countries, the United States is experiencing a shortage of trained and knowledgeable workers in all areas of business.
To accommodate this need, we have created special “learn and earn” programs that support students who want to earn an American degree and also receive American work experience for which they will be paid. These programs were developed specifically for D.Y. Patil students and graduates.
Students come to the United States on a student VISA. In order to qualify for a student VISA, students must be enrolled full time in a college degree program. We have secured a special opportunity for students to enroll in an affordable MBA program at one of our American partner universities. (Part of the affordability of these programs is that our partners accept five courses already taken at D.Y. Patil, leaving only five – seven courses to be completed at the American University.)
For example, one of our MBA pathways features a concentration in Business Data Analytics, preparing students to accept jobs in data analysis. Data forms the foundation of decision-making in most professional occupations today. People with skills in data analysis can work in a variety of them, including Data Scientist, Business Intelligence, Analysts, Data Managers, and more. Currently, there are more than 100,000 job openings for data analysts in the United States, with a bright outlook for continued high growth. We also have partners that offer general MBA pathways—and all of these pathways lead to paid internships ranging from 1-3 years.
The final course in all of our MBA programs is a capstone project, where students apply all they have learned over the course of their degree program. The capstone provides hands-on work experience with a local company, focusing on a specific problem or program at the organization. It is structured to give students knowledge and insight about how American enterprises operate on a day-to-day level. At the same time, students have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and abilities to the American company which can lead to an internship at the company. Those who secure an internship are eligible to stay in the United States for up to three years for Optional Practical Training (OPT) depending on the concentration. The extended, 3-year OPT is available for students who earn the concentration in data analytics. Other concentrations allow students to work for 12 months following graduation.
Through this special “learn and earn” program, our partner Universities have made it possible for students to gain an American MBA degree, but also have the opportunity for a paid internship in the United States. Data analyst median starting salaries in the United States are over $60,000 per year. Thus these programs give students the opportunity to make a good income and gain significant work experience that can have a strong impact on their careers when they return home.
Two of our most valued American partners are Ottawa University in Arizona which offers the data analytics concentration and William Paterson University in New Jersey which offers the general MBA.
